1. Copy a template
Choose the HTML or Markdown template from spike/templates/. Copy it into a new folder under spike/content/. Use lowercase words and hyphens.
content/
ideas/
your-next-idea/
page.json
index.md2. Describe the work
Edit page.json: title, short description, owner, format, and tags. To add it to an existing collection, set collection to that collection’s folder path—for example toolkit.
3. Tell the story
Replace index.md or index.html. HTML can include inline interactions and local assets, bundled into a self-contained page. Larger presentations can keep styles and scripts in assets/presentation.css and assets/presentation.js, as the managed Slack and Spectrum entries do. This initial profile supports classic scripts, not JavaScript modules or arbitrary React/Vite exports. No backend, dependency installation, external embeds, or template code is allowed. Markdown is sanitized and cannot execute code. Do not put credentials or sensitive personal information in either format.
4. Submit for review
Upload the folder on a new branch using GitHub’s web interface or GitHub Desktop, then open a pull request. Never publish directly to the production branch.
Current limitation: automated protected PR previews and production publishing are not connected yet; deployment preparation is still in an unmerged pull request. Pull request checks are test signals, not review approval. This local version proves folder discovery, validation, and viewing. Real MSI access is still pending.
Listed, unlisted, or draft?
listed: true: discoverable in the catalog and its collection.listed: false: accessible by direct link after authentication, but absent from discovery and search.draft: true: excluded from the build. Protected draft preview provisioning comes later.
No application changes required
A valid folder automatically gets a page at its path. For example, content/ideas/your-next-idea/ becomes /ideas/your-next-idea/ after rebuilding. No router edits are needed.
